An Experience Rich Curriculum
Our creative, topic based curriculum is built around reading and is designed to meet the needs of each child through an immersive and hands on approach to learning that is knowledge and vocabulary rich and reflects the experiences of our children and the diversity of the world that we live in. Our curriculum is rich in both its content and depth. Through adopting a topic based curriculum we aim to provide a broad and balanced approach to learning that excites, engages and empowers children’s intellectual curiosity and their love of learning.
In additional to learning at school, our curriculum is enhanced by our calendar of educational visits and excursions which have been careful chosen to develop and enhance the children's learning in school.
We use knowledge organisers in some subjects where there is a bank of knowledge we want the children to retain. Click here to read more about how we use knowledge organisers.
The breadth of our curriculum offering extends beyond the classroom and includes a wide range of extra curricular learning opportunities including after school clubs and Forest School along with many other additional elements. We believe that together, these enable us to extend beyond the National Curriculum in order to provide learning opportunities that reflect the needs and interests of our children.
We promote children’s independence, creativity, excellence, perseverance and a belief in themselves. We aim to ensure equal access and opportunity to the curriculum, regardless of background, familial circumstance, ability, gender race or sexual orientation/identity.
